Editorial
Welcome to the twelfth issue of Baffling Magazine, on the theme of “Fashion.”
We have seven stories to share with you:
“Darn” by Mary Sanche encases you expertly in its sharp, ethereal lyricism.
“I Want To Wear You Like a Glove” by Anneke Schwob is a story of aching loneliness and even more aching satiation, stitched together in masterful patchwork.
“Evergreen” by Megan Baffoe presents the ingredients of a relationship from meetcute to ever after. Love is a vision in green and I was hooked.
“Call Me, Said Kali In Her Black Modified YSLs” by Akira Leong is a quick sketch of falling in love, by the end of which I too was a little fucked and very much head over heels.
“Aristophanes Airs His Dirty Laundry” by Bastian Hart gives the reader a snapshot of long-held longings so gently exposed in a laundromat’s fluorescent lighting.
Crafting a potent narrative about the power of transformation, Tianran Li-Harkness beckons us along with the magic of shapeshifting and leads us to the precipice of vengeful satisfaction in “Of Available Materials.”
“Grown Gown” by Derek Des Anges is a melancholic, meandering exploration of self-discovery, ushered along by a dress that is clear, at least, in what it’s getting out of the deal.
We hope you enjoy!
